How we handle interview data

Written for the people taking part. If you were sent a link to a conversation, this page explains exactly what happens to what you say.

Last updated October 2026

What is recorded

The text of your conversation with the interviewer. If you choose to answer out loud, your audio is turned into text straight away and the text is what we keep — the recording is not stored.

What is not recorded

We do not track your location, your device contacts, or anything you do outside the conversation page. You do not need an account, and you are not asked to sign in.

Who can see it

The team running the listening exercise can see the transcript under the label you were invited with. The report that goes to leadership is written at theme level: what a group of people is saying, not who said it. Short quotes may be used to illustrate a theme.

How it is used

An AI model reads the transcripts across the project and summarises the themes, what is working, what is not, and what to do about it. The organiser may also upload background documents (the "Project Brain") — such as a brief, requirements or a job description — which the AI reads to shape its questions. Your words are not used to train any model.

Reasonate produces analysis and advisory recommendations to support a decision. The final judgement always stays with the people responsible for it.

Your anonymity

Before the conversation starts you choose whether your answers stay anonymous. Anonymous responses are only reported as part of a group, never individually. If you choose to be identified, the organiser can see your individual analysis; otherwise it is not shown at all.

How long it is kept

For as long as the project is open. When the organiser deletes the project, the transcripts and reports go with it.

Your choices

  • You can skip any question, or say you would rather not answer.
  • You can stop at any time — just close the page.
  • You can type instead of speaking, and turn the spoken questions off.
  • You can ask for your transcript to be removed: contact the organiser who invited you, or email hazel@reasonate.app.

If you share something concerning

If the conversation suggests you may be in danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, Reasonate will pause the interview and show you support options. That moment is kept out of the normal organisational report and is not used for sentiment, readiness, or stakeholder analysis.

Reasonate is not a mental health or crisis service. It does not diagnose or provide clinical advice.

Security

Data is held in a managed cloud database with access rules that keep each organisation's information separate, and is encrypted in transit and at rest.
